Clean Install

Download Your Theme

In your themeforest download page, there are 2 choices. First choice is included documentation, theme and demo content, second one contains only wordpress theme. 

If you download first one, dont forget to extract it in your computer. Landmark Theme zip file is landmark-construction-theme.zip

Install Wordpress via Wordpress

Before Using One Click Importer

You may have problem with one click install because of your php version and your PHP Configuration Limits of your hosting (or server etc). 

Your PHP version should be 5.5 and your limits should be like this:

• memory_limit 256M
• post_max_size 64M
• upload_max_filesize 64M
• max_input_vars 3000
• max_execution_time 3600
• max_input_time 3600

One Click Importer 

Go to your wordpress dashboard and click Landmark Theme Options on your menu ( You can open Landmark Theme Options on top bar of wordpress too. )

When you open theme options, click to Demo Importer.

After this, you will see a import button. Just click and wait it.

If You Get any Error or Interrupt/Cancel Accidentally

Please check your php limits and setting as we mention on above. 

Then install this plugin or similar, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-database-reset/

Use plugin to reset all your settings and content.

Activate your theme ( from dashboard > appearance > themes )

Activate your plugins ( from dashboad > plugins or appearance > install plugins )

Use importer again.

You can open your header settings from your dashboard > Landmark Theme Options > Header Settings or your top navigation on your dashboard.

You can find information on your theme options but we want to explain a few options to help you.

1) We have got 3 different layouts. Layouts will effect your logo and navigation position.

Here is the examples:

2) You can set your menu items centered. 

3) You can divide your topsection or use 1 column.

4) This will effect your menu item ( like HOME, ABOUT etc) color, background, border etc. We have got 12 different ready to use style.

When you scroll down your settings you can see more settings like this:

You can add many widgets to your header or top section. Just drag and drop to enable it. You can use multiple widget or single or dont enable it..

Our widget areas are:

• Widgets after Navigation
• Widgets after Logo
• Wİdgets before Logo
• Widgets Topsection Left
• Widgets Topsection Right

Some widgets area depends on your Header Layout . If you don't use logo on center,  you can't use Widget Before Logo area. Please read description on theme options.  

Go to your Appearance > Menus

Choose top level menu item and click "use mega menu". 

When you click checkbox, it opens some settings of mega menu, you can choose your column, background etc.

After chosing your settings, add new level items. These are your megamenu title. You can add 3 or 4 depending on your mega menu style.

Now you can add your link to mega menu. If you want to use widget in mega menu, dont add any links, click the title and choose your widget. You can choose your widget Appearance > Widgets

Here is the steps for caption area

-- Caption Style

Go to themeoptions > header settings > caption customisation

Choose your caption style. You have got 3 different layout for caption. You can't combine from 1 style to another. You can customise color, images, subtitles etc.

1) Use Same Image and Color for Every Page

If you want to use same settings for all your page, you can use themeoptions > header settings > caption customisation > background settings.

2) Use Different Image and Color

If you want to use different image for every page, you should use "Featured Image" on your page.

3) Blog Page, Shop Page

In this post type, you can't use "Featured Image" and subtitles for your caption. So you should go to Blog Settings and Shop settings page on themeoptions. You will see the caption area settings. Just change it.

4) Portfolio Page

In portfolio tutorial, we will explain this. 

When you create a post, you will see post format settings on the right side of your page.

Gallery Post

If you want to use slider on your post, click this and choose your image up to 6 different from right side. 

Video Post

You can use youtube, vimeo or custom video on your post featured area. Click this then scroll your page. You will see video link areas.

Audio Post

You can use custom audio or soundcloud on featured area, click and scroll your page for link areas.

Quote Post

When you choose this, your post has got different design from other post. Title is for quote's subtitle ( for example, name of quote), your content is for quote. 

Link Post

When you choose this, your post has got different design from other post. Add a link to your content to anywhere (if you add 2 link your content, the first one will be used for post).

There are 2 different settings on single blog, 

1) Choose Single Style

Go to themeoptions > blog settings

Choose your single blog style and your widgets on single page.

2) Footer and Sidebar

When you create single post, you will see a page settings below the content area. Choose footer and sidebar settings. You can use different sidebar, footer for your every post or just use the same.

We are using 7 different Blog Page. You can set it from Themeoptions > Blog Settings. You need to set your caption setting on blog page too. 

If you're going to use static page for your homepage(frontpage), you need to create a blog page (if you install our demo content, you dont need to do this step. You will get the page with dummy data). 

- Create a blank page Dont write or create anything.

- Choose blog template from page att.

- Choose footer and sidebar options.

- Save it and choose your page wordpress settings > reading.

We have got a blog widget on Visual Composer for adding latest post to your page. 

On your page, create a row. Dont divide to columns. Use 1/1 on column. Add your blog widget. 

On blog widget, there are a few areas for your customisation

1) Choose main settings of your blog widget. 

2) Translation for "read more" etc.

3) Color settings

4) Color settings on hover.

Can I Create a Custom Blog Widget?

In Visual Composer, there is a grid builder. You can create your own widget with load more button or pagination etc. (Wordpress Dashboard > Visual Composer > Grid Builder )

In your portfolio single page, you need to be known these:

Content

We are using Visual Composer to create content in portfolio single. Click the backend editor button (or frontend) and create your content. We have created 7 different portfolio single content in our demo page but it does not mean there are only 7 style, it depend on your creativity. 

You can use revolution slider, image slider, gallery etc. Use all visual composer widgets and customisation for your page.

You can use our demo content with visual composer toolkit to copy - paste - modify for creating portfolio fastly.

Excerpt

You have to fill excerpt in your portfolio page. When you use portfolio widget ( for example, latest portfolio or grid builder) your intro comes from this area. Just write a few sentences like in our demo.

Portfolio Single page does not show excerpt. This is for portfolio page and widgets. 

Featured Image

You need to add featured image for your portfolio page ( and widgets) like excerpt. Portfolio Single page does not show excerpt. You need to use single image, gallery widget, revolutions slider or other widget for your content images.

Tags

If you want show particular portfolio in your homepage or other page, you can use tags for filtering. Just add a tags to your item and then use it in portfolio widgets.

Category

You can add a category for your portfolio. Some of our portfolio widget style shows category in page. You can use category in grid builder for filtering.

You can create a portfolio page to show all your content with pagination (or load more) and filter widget.

Create a blank page.

Use Post Masonry Grid or Post Grid widget

Dont divide your row to columns. Use 1/1 column.

Choose Portfolio from data-source. Write -1 to total items if you want to show all items. Choose load more button from display style then select other options depending your request. 

Click item design on top of widget menu. Select portfolio styles.

For other settings, you can fill whatever you want. If you want to customise our portfolio styles, go to Wordpress Dashboard > Visual Composer > Grid Builder, edit our styles or create new one with your own request.

We have got 3 different portfolio widget.

1) Post Masonry Grid ( We have mentioned it in Portfolio Page section )

2) Post Grid widget ( We have mentioned it in Portfolio Page section )

3) Recent Portfolio 

This widget does not have load more or pagination options. You can use this widget in your homepage or other pages for showing your latest portfolio. Recent Portfolio widget has got filtering options but it only works with tags. If you want to use category in filter section, please use post masonry or post grid.

Landmark Theme has got different sidebar logic. 

We are using Visual Composer to create sidebars. You can create multiple sidebars and use different sidebar for every page.

When you import our demo content, you will get our demo sidebar ready to use. We advise to you don't delete these sidebars. It helps and gives idea to create your own sidebar. If you want more sidebar, just create new one and write your own title, create your own content.

Don't divide columns in your sidebar content. 

You can use Widgets ( Appearance > Widgets ) in your sidebar content with Visual Composer Widgetised Sidebar element.

You can use every element of Visual Composer in your sidebar content.

How Can You Choose Your Sidebar?

Whenever you create a page, blog post, portfolio post etc. , you will see page options under your wordpress editor. You can choose your sidebar from these options.

Shop Sidebar

If you want to use your shop page with sidebar, just edit your shop page and choose sidebar as your other pages.

• Importing thing is shop widgets in sidebar, if you want to use some shop widget (like Price Filter), you need to add your shop widget to Appearance > Widgets > Shop Sidebar. You need to do this because of Visual Composer does not have some shop widget elements. If you want to show these shop widgets, just add them in wordpress widgets (Appearance > Widgets > Shop Sidebar)
• After this step, if you need non-woocommerce widgets in your shop sidebar, add these widget in Visual Composer (like other sidebar).
• If you dont need any non-woocommerce widget in your shop sidebar, create blank sidebar page. 
• Now you can choose your sidebar with editing your shop page ( yes, you can choose blank page in shop page, it will take shop sidebar auto )

Just like the sidebar, we are using Visual Composer for footer.

You can divide your row to columns in Footer.

When you import demo content, you will get ready to use Footer Style, we advise to you don't delete these content. It will help you to understand Footer logic. 

You can use non-visual composer element in footer with Widgetised Sidebar element in Visual Composer.

Choosing Footer is same as Sidebar. You can see Footer Section in your Page Options under Wordpress Editor.

If you import our demo content, you will see there are 5 different ready to use 404 Pages. 

You can create your own 404 Pages too with using Visual Composer. You should choose HomePage template from the right side of your screen (Page Att).

After creating your page, go to Theme Options > General Settings

Find 404 Page ID section and write your page id. You can see your page id in edit screen of page.

( in this example page id is: 6318 )
